Iran has rejected claims made by U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff regarding uranium enrichment, reiterating that it does not support the development of nuclear weapons.

On Tuesday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated that the country remains opposed to building nuclear arms. Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei maintained his religious stance against nuclear weapons development until the very end. He added that during discussions with the U.S. delegation in Geneva, images of Iranian casualties were still fresh in their minds, dismissing Witkoff’s claims as inaccurate.

Iran has also accused the United States and Israel of targeting civilians and medical facilities. According to the Iranian Red Crescent, 787 people have been killed so far in the attacks.

Earlier, Witkoff claimed that efforts to reach a nuclear agreement with Iran in Geneva collapsed before a joint U.S.-Israeli strike. He said that he and Jared Kushner had proposed a 10-year suspension of uranium enrichment, with the United States covering fuel costs. Tehran, however, rejected the offer, insisting on continuing enrichment activities.
