Popular television actor Ziaul Faruq Alvi has come under nationwide criticism following the alleged suicide of his wife, Ikra. Allegations surfaced claiming that Ikra took her own life due to issues related to Alvi’s alleged extramarital involvement.
Rumors have been circulating about a romantic relationship between Alvi and small-screen actress Iffat Ara Tithi.
After days of speculation and public discussion, Tithi has finally addressed the matter.
Speaking about the relationship rumors, she said she has worked with Alvi for a long time. She explained that when colleagues work together for four to five years, a strong friendship can naturally develop. She reiterated that Alvi is her closest friend in the industry and mentioned that she has stated this in previous interviews as well.
Regarding their return to the country, Tithi clarified accusations claiming that Alvi did not come back to see his wife for the last time and was instead in Nepal with his girlfriend. She dismissed the claim as false, stating that she returned to Bangladesh on March 2 with the entire team. She added that on the day Ikra died, efforts were made to secure flight tickets, but none were available initially. The team managed to arrange tickets the following day and returned together.
On February 28, Ikra’s body was found hanging at a residence in Mirpur DOHS. She was taken to Kurmitola General Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Alvi and Ikra reportedly married secretly on November 9, 2010. Their marriage became public in 2024, nearly 14 years later. The couple has a son named Rizik.
