Iran has warned that it could plunge the entire Middle East into darkness within 30 minutes if the United States launches attacks targeting Iran’s power infrastructure.
The warning was issued by Ali Larijani, head of Iran’s National Security Council, in a post on social media platform X.
Larijani referred to comments reportedly made by Donald Trump, who said the United States could destroy Iran’s electricity capacity within an hour but had chosen not to do so.
Responding to that statement, Larijani wrote that if such an attack occurs, the entire Middle East would face a blackout within 30 minutes. He also suggested that darkness would make it easier for Iranian forces to target or capture U.S. troops attempting to flee the region.
The remarks highlight rising tensions in the region amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
