Gas Line Explosion, 4 Workers Dead. Four workers have died in an explosion while working on the gas line of Akij Venture Limited located in Bahubal, Habiganj.
Several others have been injured in the incident. The incident occurred on Tuesday (December 31) at 9 AM.
The deceased are Mizan Gazi, Mahfuz Mia, and Riaz Mia. It is reported that they were all residents of Chandpur district.
The names and identities of the injured have not been immediately disclosed.
According to the police, contractor workers were working on the gas line of a company named Akij Group in the Dubai Bazar area of the upazila. Suddenly, an explosion occurred in the line around 9 AM. Mizan Gazi and Mahfuz Mia died on the spot due to burns. Riaz, who was in critical condition, succumbed to his injuries while being taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
It has been reported that another person has died while receiving treatment there.
The seriously injured have been admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
