A businessman sentenced to 6 months in prison arrested.Police have arrested fugitive businessman Gobinda Sutradhar, who was sentenced to 6 months in prison, in Habiganj.
On Saturday afternoon, a team of police led by Sub-Inspector Gopal Acharya of the Sadar Police Station conducted an operation based on secret information and arrested him from the Chowdhury Bazar area of the town.
The arrested Gobinda Sutradhar is the son of Gopendra Sutradhar from the Khowaimukh area of the town and is the owner of M/s Shree Geetamoy Traders.
According to the police, Gobinda Sutradhar is a defaulter customer of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC, Habiganj branch.
He owes 431,600 Taka to that branch. However, despite the time for repayment having passed, he did not pay.
In this context, a case was filed by Islami Bank, Habiganj branch. Gobinda was found guilty in the case.
The court issued a 6-month prison sentence along with a fine equivalent to the owed amount.
Regarding this, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station, Alomgir Kabir, stated that there is a 6-month sentence warrant against him.
After his arrest, he was sent to jail through the court on Saturday evening.
